Thanks for reading Rain, this is the history of me, from the inside out. I am always re-examining myself, checking to see if I am still me and then checking again when new things happen to alter my path in life. In a way, all of my poems are works of introspection, no matter if they are political or love poems, I am expressing something inside me.
I have read many a boring poem that simply reflects the events of the day or observations along the way that tell us nothing more than the obvious and never allow us into the heart of the artist. I like to get inside and feel what the poet feels, not form my own feelings about what they have witnessed. I already have those feelings and know them well, but when a poet lets me feel the beats in their heart, that's when a poem moves me. To be moved to a place I have not been before, that's when I know I am in the presense of an artist.
