My 'Religion'.

Not really spirituality I guess but uplifting and Walt Whitmanesque kind of spirituality.

***

My 'religion' has no god.
I need not ask for blessings, they are before me.
My temple,my church,my synagogue,my special place
is the green field,the beach,the rugged mountain,the flowing river,the glen,the woods.

My religion's creed is one thought:-
you are but one strand on a web of wonder.

My religion asks for no faith.
It is before me.
I taste it on my palate
rub upon it with the grooves of my fingers
encapture it in sight
inhale it's scents.

It tells of no miracles
except wonderous growth and diverse forms.
But there be no impossible mystery to it,though not all be known.
My religion builds not a cathedral nor monument
It is it's own testament
found in a spider dangling from a spun web
or within my hands the complexity of a single blade of grass.

My religion 'indoctrinates' all
with Joy and Awe.
The arcane texts lie unread next to it's living scripture.

My religion ends a prayer not with any praise to divinity
but with "wow"
a humble bow from us, who are but a small dot within infinity
a journey of the universe packaged by history
an epic story
a fraction of the magic of the heavens.
