Opposite Ends
I woke early with anxiety
I kept thinking of an imaginary line
One that traced a path from a dilapidated little bungalow
To that beautiful apartment building that overlooks the park
The one with the verandas and parquet floors
Crammed with busy people that lead quiet lives
My imaginary line went right on thru to your door
I doubt you think much of these things
While I waste my time thinking
Of imaginary red lines and maps
The lines that lead from my lack of acceptance
All the way to your avoidance and anger
A long distance has been traveled
Figuring out my way with bad memories and lines as a reference point
To the final destination
I would probably settle for a truce and remain satisfied with being an annoyance
You are probably past that now
My lack of insight always amazed you
My maps were always off by miles
I think we both know where I stand
My broken little bungalow by the beach
I kept thinking of an imaginary line
One that traced a path from a dilapidated little bungalow
To that beautiful apartment building that overlooks the park
The one with the verandas and parquet floors
Crammed with busy people that lead quiet lives
My imaginary line went right on thru to your door
I doubt you think much of these things
While I waste my time thinking
Of imaginary red lines and maps
The lines that lead from my lack of acceptance
All the way to your avoidance and anger
A long distance has been traveled
Figuring out my way with bad memories and lines as a reference point
To the final destination
I would probably settle for a truce and remain satisfied with being an annoyance
You are probably past that now
My lack of insight always amazed you
My maps were always off by miles
I think we both know where I stand
My broken little bungalow by the beach
