Goddess of Mercy
- Goddess of Mercy -
When am I not in thirst for what I crave?
Reborn in this age, seeking so ceaseless…
Risen from Hell, with a spirit most brave!
I seek to slake my thirst in mad fleetness.
Goddess of Mercy, grant me that boon,
Which some call forgiveness, when I err!
Twisted are the paths beneath the moon,
And as myriad: as all the clouds in the air.
Bestow upon me, in all the divine names,
Of that power which is a part of all things…
Thy glory, which never the spirit shames!
For thou art compassion, and all it brings.
When I pass through what hells life crafts,
Grant me safe passage through each one.
That I might reach where the angel laughs,
Whole and pure with my soul not undone!
Voluptuousness and sensuousness sublime,
Both are pure and beyond mortal scorn…
Desire is no wicked thing, so let it be mine.
I am a creature of desire, to desire sworn!
Goddess of Mercy, bless all my journeys,
And let what sins are mine be absolved…
For thou knows entire, all living destinies!
And how life’s conflicts, can be resolved.
Eternal has been my path, and I accept it,
For serenity cometh from understanding…
I have embraced true wisdom, humbly fit.
The cost of thy love is never demanding…
For all who come to thee, are welcomed.
So welcome me, goddess, with thy arms!
I have prayed to thee, but far too seldom.
But still I have prayed, as my spirit warms!
Goddess of Mercy: hear my prayer!
It is I, who must my destiny ever dare.
When am I not in thirst for what I crave?
