Calmness

Laid to rest in your sepulcher
handsome as ever with red rose
in place. I do wish that I had
once more seen your stern
but loving face.
I loved you more than I may
have said, but I feel you know.
Today the tears fell like the hardest
of tropical storms onto my face and pillow.
I miss you and my heart is caving in
as I sit here remembering my times
as a little girl. You spoiled me
rotten and I adored you I hope you know.
I pray you are feeling at the top of your game
now that you are relieved of your physical pain.
I cannot believe it ended this way.
I didn't see you lowered into your grave.
I feel a flood of tears welling now in my reddened eyes.
I accuse myself and wonder why I let you down.
You were the best dad a girl could have asked for
although you made your mistakes.
I'd do anything now for simply one more day.
"I Love you" are the words I know I'd say.

In Loving memory of my dad who passed away..May he rest in peace and enjoy heaven..
