Atheism: a Romance
God,
Don't leave me in
The jagged clutches of
Humility; let me fight
And give me wings
To be free.
I'm too black to
Blush perfectly;
My eyes are too screwed
Up from experiences
To see
You.
Lifelong roots
That have kept my
Soul chained
Are loosening their
Gripping veins
From all of
My perceptions of
Reality.
It's too ugly to know
That you've winced
From this wretched
Nature that you've
Created me.
I have sought refuge
In a cross only to find
That me and you
Are still lost to
Each other.
I try following all the basic
Laws in life, and yet
You're still further.
Maybe, I'm
Wasting this damned
Time in search for what never
Was,
Is, or
Will be.
Don't leave me in
The jagged clutches of
Humility; let me fight
And give me wings
To be free.
I'm too black to
Blush perfectly;
My eyes are too screwed
Up from experiences
To see
You.
Lifelong roots
That have kept my
Soul chained
Are loosening their
Gripping veins
From all of
My perceptions of
Reality.
It's too ugly to know
That you've winced
From this wretched
Nature that you've
Created me.
I have sought refuge
In a cross only to find
That me and you
Are still lost to
Each other.
I try following all the basic
Laws in life, and yet
You're still further.
Maybe, I'm
Wasting this damned
Time in search for what never
Was,
