The Beast In Me

Trying to find a place
to rest my weary soul
I feel broken like i'm walking on glass

My mind speeding through
this thing we call life
dizzying thoughts collide in my head

I tell myself breathe slow it down babe
but the powers that be suffocate me
with their mind bending visions

Demons lead me astray
voices that screech in the night
whispers I hear by day

To quiet my mind
sigh to quiet my mind
running to and froe through the streets

Seeking ever seeking
some peace of mind
to take me out of myself

Some hiding place
where I can retreat
turn a blind eye for awhile to the beast hiding in me
