Knife
Tears streak my cheeks
As I watch you leave
Stomach hurts
Heart aches
Salt crusting on my eyelashes
Students swirl past me
Some stare
And asks what is wrong
But I can not speak
Memories of you
Swirl in my mind
Chills run over me
Sobs begin to escape
Your dark brown hair
The smile you showed me
And the laughs like bells
Your eyes
Haunt me so
The ghost of your voice
Next to my ear
Saying oh so low
“Let me twist that knife for you”
And I cripple in pain
My breath catching
I can not speak
The memories of you
Slowly killing me
As I watch you leave
Stomach hurts
Heart aches
Salt crusting on my eyelashes
Students swirl past me
Some stare
And asks what is wrong
But I can not speak
Memories of you
Swirl in my mind
Chills run over me
Sobs begin to escape
Your dark brown hair
The smile you showed me
And the laughs like bells
Your eyes
Haunt me so
The ghost of your voice
Next to my ear
Saying oh so low
“Let me twist that knife for you”
And I cripple in pain
My breath catching
I can not speak
The memories of you
Slowly killing me
