A Look in the Mirror

I look in the mirror to attempt to see
What the hell other people really see in me
Must be some kind of weird connection
Because the mirror's image wasn't a clear reflection

Maybe its my fault that I forgot who i am
I would try to explain it but no one really gives a damn
Lost in my mind, trapped in the mirror
Thoughts come close but emotions come nearer

All I see is a young black man
Who always tries to do what he can
To show peace and love to everyone around
And help lift sad faces up off the ground

Now I don't mean to sound mean and don't wanna be rude
But tough love is all you will get right now from this dude
Some people really need to check their-self
Before they establish an opinion of anyone else

Take a look in the mirror, and see what you see
You will realize that we're the same you and me
See that your not better than everyone else
Sometimes it seems that your too good for yourself

Open your eyes so you know that all this is real
And not everyone around will feel what you feel
And just because you look good, you shouldn't be stuck up either
BECAUSE GOD DON'T LIKE UGLY BUT HE AINT TO FOND OF PRETTY NEITHER

The mirror reveals more than you think
Take a good hard look and you better not blink
Look past the skin and unimportant things
On the inside everybody heart sings

And I continue to travel deeper in mind
Deeper into the mirror,lost in time
My reflection stands still as I continue to look
And I hope that this vision doesnt get mistook....
