Birds Fly In The Rain

We know not the tinder of the moment
When match is struck
Suspended between spark and flame
What is right? What is wrong?
No one lives forever
Then needs come the night

Why do we keep deep diving for everything on our wishlist
Always chasing some neurotically ordained checklist

Why cant we be satisfied in the here and now

Who am I
Some random guy
A random
Unique
An outlier in your world
A shooting star outside your orbit

*

I’m there
Written in the poetry of the the sky
Clouds against the blue
Wind riders
My brothers
Birds in flight
Darting among the boughs
Trees
Leafy or bare
Reaching
Wind rustling leaves and sounding like rain
Sometimes the sea
The singing burble of streams
Coursing
Rippling around stone
Stone older than trees

I've sailed the seas
Know the curvature of earth
As towers sink from view
Til's left only sky
Blue laid on blue
And I know the curvature of you

I've watched birds fly in the rain
We’re no different than these
Dripping feelings that strain
Such distant things, we

Of beauty's first blush
Deep shadowed trees
Lowlands unstirring in mist covered dreams
Laced web, bedewed, in dawning's gleam
Ethereal dream catcher
In fence's rough angle
Wood dark from damp
Feathered by grass
Between asleep and awake

Still quiet depths where shadows lie
'Neath glinting sun on breeze gentle wave
Skipping stones
Stepping stones

Moon pools
That catch silvered sheen
Or fairie circles, tho' rarely seen
In clearings glade
Bent tree trail markers
Among labyrinth of trees
Where deer paths wander

Equinoxes and soltices
The balances, height and depth
The betweens when the veil is thin
Seeing the unseen
And Knowings

I am a son of the earth
A gazer of stars
A wander, a dreamer
Wood whittler
A stacker of stones
A lover of you
Daughter of the moon

I yearn to see you unbridled, unbound
Letting your spirit, untethered, soar
Speaking ancient of new things
You'd forgotten how to dream
Smiling at things never learned
That show themselves willingly
Though none so eagerly
As me

Glow in sunset set for me
My coming night's fire
Warm in hammock beneath the stars
Nearness your incense
Mingled with honeysuckle and pine

Kiss as you breathe
As life should be lived

Fire
Burning
Burning for more
For all
For me
Not a match
But a bonfire's roar

Touch me
My soul
Shape stone
Weave dreams
The husk of your voice in your flowing

Let scent rough things awaken
The pillage of my hands on your skin
All I want for the taking
Here and now
In raw coupling need
Wreath art in fire
My venom in flame
Glossolalia quenching red hot of forged blade

*

Do you ever walk outside of time
Wing where you would
Live without regret
Dance in the rain
Think of me

I know of waterfalls where sun dapples the pool
