Flash of Change
Funny how quickly emotions can change.
Have you seen?
Or did you miss it?
It was a flash of change, too quick.
Passed you by didn't it?
Butterflies laying nests inside stomachs,
threatening to fly out of your throat.
Too quickly does it change into morbid insects.
Wasps fill your lungs and puncture your esophagus.
You choke for air,
but everytime this occurs
a wasp clings to your throat with it's stinger.
Love is a dangerous emotion.
It can easily change, too quickly as you can see.
Eventually those wasps die off,
their stingers still left you presents.
Wounds that won't heal.
One little string of hope
and suddenly those 'breathtaking' butterflies are back.
They can stay there for only so long till one wrong move.
You hear the buzzing.
The jabs, each one piercing even deeper than the first wave.
Giving you evidence to never forget how quickly love turned on you.
A bolt strikes filling your soul and heart with joy,
But once the flash echos,
change happens.
