just an old romantic

       
     
       
wearily picked up my pen        
and copied into a notebook another
poem soon to        
disappear from the internet        
       
it’s my own fault, of course, that out of
five thousand or so  
I fell in love with a couple I’d written,      
the rest I’ll forget
