Drawing A World
Bitterness runs through his arrogant veins
So he chose to push his own daughter away
She's drawing a world where hope remains
And her father chose to love instead of decay

Author's Note
Late night musing. Joey G, has a daughter. I kinda think the poem explains the rest. Just thinking about how brave she is. Appreciate you.

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Pete. So glad you connected with the write, my friend. I know what you mean, feel the same about my kids. He did this to himself, she didn't deserve this. I told her I was proud of her for doing well in school, because he ignores her. Makes my blood boil. Appreciate you.

Thanks for sharing this message of conflict as seen through the eyes of a child 👍💪👊 as they are the ones of innocence of the world who see the world in different ways 👁️👁️

I can't imagine what it would be like to be cast aside by your parents.
My heart bleeds for her courage.
So little words say soooo much.
Well composed.

My daughter struggles with my ex & his determination to be negative. To look through a bile green lens at the world. She's a stubborn girl (like her mother) & keeps trying to blunt the edges of his bitterness. Sometimes it works...because he loves her. Amazing how much decay is stalled when one focuses on the love instead. And the love of a child is beyond calculation. Short & powerful, this one

Thanks so much for reading and your kind words, Willow. So glad you connected with the write, my friend. She's a brave kid. She's 16 now. Luckily her mom, and stepdad are a good family for her. But, Joey G took the divorce out on her. Tried to use her to spy on his ex, it makes my skin crawl. She texts me every now and then, I told her the other day I was proud of her for doing well in school. Because her dad chose to stop communicating with her. She's a good kid, a talented artist, she can draw. Appreciate you.

much said in such less words ..loved the title ..
the courage & hope of love she draws tells of her wisdom beyond age..
couldn't imagine or digest such beast of parents who could abandon (or even worse ..abuse) their own children.. its the greatest sin of all i feel ..
this is powerfully delivered in your minimalism Damian.. write on my friend xx
