Top Shelf
You walk in as if I ordered you from the bar
Cool, intense and inviting
I Want to take you down
Take you to a place
I will not allow others a chance to try
You’ve been too long on the top shelf
Now, it is time to come down
Sit before me, and let me look at you
Tormenting myself to have you between
My lips
I heard the whispers of
“Not many can handle the flavor.”
Leaning in to intoxicate my senses
Warm cherry wood with an undertone
Of smoldering honey embers
My demon of a tongue could wait no longer.
Darting out to moisten the salted skin
To be welcomed with a silent, timid parting
Of lips.
The taste of sweet, husky nectar
Went straight to my head.
Greedy and wonton, I delved deeper.
If I was going to heaven, This just revoked my card.
Pulled back, dilated eyes
“If I do not stop now…”
The statement left unfinished waiting.
I patiently wait for the answer
“It’s Time”
Cool, intense and inviting
I Want to take you down
Take you to a place
I will not allow others a chance to try
