Feast of shadows
How could you take another bite?
Mouth already full of lies,
spewing obscenities from that wretched face you think beauty.
All your victims on bending knee,
broken, but too proud to flee.
You gorge on their fear, their hopeless pleas,
turning them to shadows in the breeze.
But still, your hunger will never cease,
For all you create is a world of grief.
You wear your mask like a crown of thorns,
bleeding others dry while you are reborn.
Each soul you consume leaves a hollow space,
A scar that can never be erased.
The world crumbles beneath your feet,
as you swallow the cries of those you defeat.
And yet, when you look in the mirrors glare,
you find nothing....just a vacant stare.
