Threadbare

I wear you like a second skin,
A wound that whispers from within.
You move in shadows, cold and deep,
An ache that steals what I can keep.
Your name is written on my bones,
A curse I carry, not my own.

And I can feel you pulling tighter,
A threadbare soul, a fading fighter.

Unravel me—
Let me come undone.
Leave me hollow,
Underneath your sun.
This fragile thread,
Frays with every breath.
Unravel me—
I'll be yours in death.

Your silence drowns the light of day,
A void where promises decay.
You’re not salvation, not release,
But still, I beg you for your peace.
The walls are closing, I can't run,
A noose of shadows coming undone.

And every choice becomes surrender,
Your voice, a flame I can't remember.

Unravel me—
Let me come undone.
Leave me hollow,
Underneath your sun.
This fragile thread,
Frays with every breath.
Unravel me—
I'll be yours in death.

Is this devotion, or disease?
The way I kneel, the way I freeze.
You are the knife; I am the skin.
Carve your will, let darkness in.
I am your echo, your refrain,
A fragile hymn in endless pain.

Unravel me—
Break me strand by strand.
Leave me empty,
Mold me with your hands.
This tether snaps,
And I forget my name.
Unravel me—
Let me wear your flame.

Now I’m nothing but your thread,
A fragile spool of words unsaid.
Pull tighter, love, until I fray,
And let me drift—fade away.
