A letter from Saint Peter to the Synapses
Epiphany.
I've only this moment realized that low moods ,if not created by thoughts, then almost certainly exacerbated by them.
A low mood arrives after a inconsequential thought which triggers a memory. Not just a memory of a past event but a memory of how the body and mind felt at that time.If you felt shaky or sick or totally distraught those feelings are the ones that arise. Then just to complicate the matter, fear joins the dance as we imagine those shitty feelings to be permanent and fatal. The unguarded mind will insist on their permanency but it's lying.
So suffering, not pain,is all in the mind.Trapped in the spaces between the physical and mental.Recreating suffering from yesterday to bring into today, into the present moment.
If only I can remember this when the 'wobbles' come knocking.
Not exactly poetry but DUP is a great place for catharsis through words.
