Reject
you’ve always loved me
kissed me long and hugged me
even when I thought I had nothing left
you never made me feel like a reject
these days I’m a defeatist
found strength in seclusion
let down
but I’m not feeling sorry for myself
quite the opposite
I see a world on fire
wish I could go back to innocence
I still have a piece of it
right by my side
years and it still amazes me
how you can still be so hopeful
it
would
be
a
cold
world
if
you
didn’t
keep
me
warm
