Quicksand
Two souls dance in grace and harmony
over the quicksand in the cold night.
Each step is a risk, a flirtation with the abyss,
in the back and forth of destiny
looking for the earthquake.
Eyes to eyes and the fear dissolves
while the treacherous earth beneath revolves.
Hands that hold on to a fragile link.
Dancing on uncertainty, challenging luck.
They move lightly in rhythm.
As if sand were sacred solid ground.
In every turn, an unspoken promise,
In a tight hug, salvation is blessed.
Below, the sand calls, in a fatal murmur.
But in the dancers' eyes, there is an immortal glow.
Their hearts beat together in melody.
Over the quicksand, in the daily dance.
Even if the ground gives way in the thick darkness
they dance facing immense gravity.
For they know that love, in its purest form,
survives any quicksand without cracking.
In every turn, in every bold step,
two souls find a sacred place.
No matter the danger or the impending fall,
in the dance on quicksand love is the gift.
