A sandwich and some citrus fruit
sure beats a bowl of soup,
and then to keep the thoughts astute;
black tea by double scoop.
And winter sun is lots of fun
but I'm expecting rain,
because the worst has not begun...
from which I will abstain.

If I plan ahead I will make soup from dried beans. Overnight soak and all that.

My grandma always told me (and still does from time to time), to make sure to add 7 cloves of garlic when I make beans (I also throw in half an onion, green and red bell peppers, and bacon).

Coffee not tea. Soup and juice not sandwich and fruit. How do you feel about strawberry ice cream with chocolate chips? Or chicken pot pie? Keep warm.

I think I could handle a modest amount of strawberry ice cream with chocolate chips, but I would insist on being very exacting about the ratio between those two ingredients.
The chicken pot pie sounds awfully enticing, and would be my preference, especially if served with Darjeeling.
