Charmed Into Harm
The shiny words and fancy things
The indoctrinated choir sings.
From the pulpit he spews nonsensical views
To the rabid public that fill the pews
Pushing the lies that threaten humanity.
And disregard any notion of divinity.
But he does it with such panache and flair
That they follow his commands without care.
They forget their love for family and community.
Carrying out his plans with sadistic impunity.
His sole intentions are to divide.
To mock, to ridicule, to belittle, to chide.
Caring nothing about bringing people together
He moves them with words, as easy as a feather.
But it’s not feathers with which they are armed.
It’s hate and violence that has them charmed.
Abandoning all claim to common sense
And ready to challenge the social defense.
While he sits back and plans and schemes
Of power and greed, his fevered dreams.
This fork-tongued devil leads from a distance.
To do great harm at his insistence.
With shiny words and fancy things
