Mother Earth

time escapes me as I walk through the earth
ancient things are here that shouldn't be disturbed
energies are given off and shadows are cast

trees very wise and old have seen many a thing die
communicating through their roots the trees talk
keeping record of all that man has wrought
sleeping giants of old
the earth cradles their souls
reclaiming bits of herself with the help of weeds

minerals and crystals are elements of our mother
precious metals that make the earth hum
extending their gifts to human
why consume when you can repurpose
even a book remembers being a tree
precious knowledge given shouldn't be wasted
sanctuary in their boughs
thank mother nature for your humble dwelling
with warmth given and warmth received
if you fell a tree plant two more in their place

our lives are intricately woven
the clothes you wear are gifts of nature
nuturing us day in and out
don't forsake these sacred offerings
if you can no longer use something
offer it to someone else

go green in what you do
care for the earth like she cares for you
deeply entwined within us
put out positive energy and she will in like respond
negative energy will get you nowhere
if you send out this vibe remember the earth is interactive
and she will reach out in kind

I admit I'm somewhat of a hippie
I believe we shouldn't destroy what is beautiful
