Jaded
She walks the world no longer outwardly wounded
Her heart vacant
Her desires an inscribed scroll she carries in her soul
Each marked upon completion
A pound of flesh for a pound of lost innocence

Each marked upon completion
A pound of flesh for a pound of lost innocence

Your poem conveys a deep sense of emotional weariness and introspection. it’s a poignant reflection on the costs of experience and the scars we carry. Well done!

Feels like forever since my thoughts felt innocent.
This deeply resonated with me
Great depth.

This is as dire as it is resounding. A very nice emotional balance for the reader.

I'm not entirely convinced innocence is all it's cracked up to be. Seems to be the magnet that draws the vipers. But I love the little girl I was before the jading...as I love yours
