Little boy came right onto the court and
Asked if he could play some bball
Said his name was Mykola
He asked where I’m from and I said around
The corner was my home

Little boy from a far away land
Came right up to us and
His innocence could not be denied
Said his name was Nicholas from
The Ukraine

So we played a game till seven
Said he’s in school in the USA
With his little sister about 5 1/2
Stayin at his grandma’s with Momma

While Daddy’s back at home trying
And holding back time
Didn’t know what to say so I just kept playin and
Told him I don’t like that man from Russia

Innocence of a young boy
Scarred by war
A war not of his choosing
Pray for his dad to return and
Make his family whole

Little Ukey boy named Nicholas is
Victory of the people
It’s what his name means
Boy from Ukraine going to
School in Philly
