The Gift Of Having You

Whom would I first address
and my veneration would express
The one who patiently me nursed
and who rendered me well versed
Shall I name who embraced my first cry
whole nights with no blink of an eye
Shall I cite who sweated blood to meet my breeding
whole days out burning to earn my feeding
Two dear familiar faces my first sight
growing with memories in my heart so bright
Mum and Dad for me you are the one
my first and only, second to none
The gift of having you long for granted taken
the evidence of losing you woe waken
My consolation what I write of you each at a time
my poetry I honour uniting both of you in a rhyme.
