Fix Me Up

One day
I will be 45 and you will be forever 16
Because I cannot imagine you old

I don’t know what romance is
Never have known
Maybe I never will
But

I am a romantic when it comes to you
Even though I don’t imagine
Romance
With you

I imagine moss and dark deep trees
Cloudy days, misty and a loud quiet
Calming and solid

You are so solid
You made me solid as well

We will be whole
And full
And everything we ever wanted to be

Author's Note
Sometimes I share my favorite poems with my therapist when they are about you. Most of the time it’s because I’m frustrated that I cannot fully encapsulate the emotions I feel when I love you and see you and know you. And often times, she says “that is quite romantic”. And I agree, it is, they are. But not in a romance way, but in a romantic friendship way. Does that make sense? You make me solid. I feel love and stress in my shoulders but with you, the stress melts away and instead of it festering near my neck I can feel love and happiness and peace right underneath both of my shoulder blades and it is so solid. Solid. Rant over, for now.
