Wishful Thinking

Wishful thinking lead me down this road
I needed to find myself along the way
So many guilty seeds have been sowed
Darkening this field where demons play

Walking in shadows searching for light
So many summers chasing this illusion
Witnessed dreams being killed for spite
Suffering under a foregone conclusion

Remembering the fallen created a path
Showing me how to break this slumber
Imagine Bukowski with a touch of Plath
Forgot the name sure I lost the number

It’s for the love of the write I’m still here
Always to the point with inspiration near
I promise to always confront every fear
My muse wants everything crystal clear

Author's Note
Late night musing. Just letting it flow tonight. A poetic cornucopia of fun. Being serious without taking myself too seriously, folks. Appreciate you.

- Damian DeadLove

" Make love not war
Sounds so absurd, to me
We can't afford
To say these words, lightly
Or else our world
Will truly, rest in peace"

- Cherone/Bettencourt
