A Reality Check
The election of President Harris for POC will not a panacea
she won't come in six guns blazing silver bullets to free ya
Yes there will be a new Female Sheriff in town
but the KKK and Neo Nazis will still be around
The US System will still be broken
even when have our latest Black token
The evils of sexism, racist, misogyny, transphobia and xenophobia will still exist
and slap us in the face every morning with a clenched fist
In the end
for my people more "symbolism over substance" once again
With this poem I am raising my hands saying oh what heck
bc by 2028 only thing POC are going to get paid with is -A Realty Check
