Judgement Day

There’s a strange reflection in the mirror
Something’s different about the atmosphere
An awkward moment becomes much clearer
When guilt is tangled with alcohol and fear

Constantly obsessing over every last detail
Nightmares lurking inside a common thread
This icy eeriness rings within a guitar scale
Amidst the silence live the words never said

Confessions are admissions of mistakes made
Forgiveness is the long and winding highway
Though I’m praying for the light to never fade
Broken promises will cloud my Judgement Day

Author's Note
Late night musing. One day I will have to face Judgement. I got a feeling I'm in for a long and winding road. Appreciate you.

" Little by little, gonna get it, I swear
One more piece of the puzzle, I'm there
Gotta get lucky gotta get that done
Little bit of luck never hurt no one"
