Image for the poem Her Shadow

Her Shadow

Living as a shade of her,
Surviving in the shining light,
Stuck on these walls, these floors,
Tired from following her commands,
Trailing in silence
As if I lack a mind of my own.

When she sleeps, I fade away,
Waiting for her to breathe life into me,
I envy her for having a soul, a body,
I need them to be mine
Wishing to possess her,
To break free from these confines.

Author's Note
I passed the mic to my silhouette. Apparently, we both envy each other.
