Hard Times

Zoomy squirrels on dangle cobbs  
hang upside down to eat  
dry kernels by the bits and gobbs,
like crows with roadkill meat.
 
The cold nights say to fatten up  
and all the critters will  
in breakfast, lunch, and twilight sup,
with their minimal skill.  
 
The rodents love a fatty nut  
but in a pinch they may  
munch out upon a deceased butt  
all night and half the day!
 
And that is why we mustn't feed  
the critters up too close  
lest they nip with a hangry greed...
not caring if it's gross 🤢
