Summer Countryside
Summer Countryside
Once alive yet never dead
Children’s spring summertime laughter echoes
In the air and skies overhead
Omnipresent love
Sunshine and breezes
Soft as doves
Morning light
Shining thru windows
Upon meadows warmth
Radiating from above
Flowers in bloom
Fields turning green and brown
Playgrounds full of joy
Till the rise of the new harvest moon
II.
Ghostly sounds echo in the cities
Suburbs and towns
The wind sweeps and howls
To the outskirts
Upon sacred grounds
Eerie trees creak
And moan
Over the creatures of night
In moonlight shadows cast down
Gone now are the long golden days of summer
As old man winter returns
And mother nature grows cold
Crimson red and gold leaves litter the meadows
The earth bares her soul
Cleansed of over ripe scents
Slowly crystallizing
In the silence
Abandoned by heat and warmth
Nothing more remains
In the lonely cold
Once alive yet never dead
Children’s spring summertime laughter echoes
In the air and skies overhead
Omnipresent love
Sunshine and breezes
Soft as doves
Morning light
Shining thru windows
Upon meadows warmth
Radiating from above
Flowers in bloom
Fields turning green and brown
