Different Name, Same Show
How does one know if they’re a poet? I only ask, because I’ve never been sure that I qualify as one? This is not me being negative about my ability, it’s kinda just the way I’m wired. I really think it’s because I spent so much time being a lyricist.
After spending so many years focused on rhyming and the lyrical format, it became the genesis of where I began writing. All I did to write poetry was essentially chop off the choruses. No kidding, people. That was all I done.
I mean I picked up little things along the way, different rhyming patterns, messing with how long lines are, or not rhyming at all. But I don’t think I’ve done anything special at all. I’m pretty good at rhyming, because I spent so much time on it.
This isn’t my first rodeo, I’ve written poetry on other sites. But this is by far the best community of all that’s out there. I’ve met so many talented poets and poetesses here, but more than that some really nice people, who’ve been very kind and inviting. What’s best of all is that you’ve all inspired me to work harder. Thanks so much by the way.
I guess the real question is this, when does a lyricist truly become a poet?
I’m a simple feeling writer, I’ve learned little about the actual rules, it’s my rebellious nature I suppose. Rules are boring to me, I loathed english class in high school. I can’t stand learning grammar, and punctuation, it’s as boring as watching paint dry to me. It shows doesn’t it? Lol.
Let’s move on, shall we? Talk about something fun and positive in nature. For all the readers out there who love the music stories series, I got good news for all of you. It’s evolving into a new paradigm so to speak. It’s moving to YouTube, I shit you not!
You will hear me tell you the stories myself. With my wonderful silky voice, putting you into a deep trance like state, where you too will bask in audio ecstasy. I’m talking eargasams for everyone. You’ll have a permanent smile on your face, I’m guaranteeing 100% satisfaction or I’ll refund your money. Oh, damn!, I forgot I ain’t charging anything.
Seriously, though the first episode is recorded. Art work is doneish. It’ll drop this weekend. I’m so grateful for the encouragement from everyone of you. I’m sorry there hasn't been new episodes lately, but now you know why.
I’m not leaving DU, I want to be clear on that. Still writing poetry here and possibly still the manuscripts of the show. Incase you missed me writing the ending of each episode, I’ll do the honor of signing it off. Remember music is the soundtrack of our lives. Peace, Love, and Lennon.
