Innocent

Satan...you know where I lie
Quietly, I slip beneath the silent sky

Our paths have grown so tangled
Chasing joys that left us mangled

Never steeled our hearts
For the storms we would chart
...Back when we were pure

Angels....grant me your grace
Trade all my past for one embrace

All those shades have long grown dim
All our laughter seized on a whim
Never were we shown
How we would lose our own
...Back when we were pure

This plea is mine tonight
So far along and still can't find the light
And while the truth remains unspoken
Our next transgression is yet unbroken
Never did we see
What our fate would be
Or how we'd lose our own
...When we were pure

This was something I had to write. Unfortunately, trafficking is rampant. It takes the innocence of the little ones.
