Spiritual Suicide
Half-cocked on a hairpin trigger
Always able to turn on a dime
Overflowing with vim and vigor
Fighting against borrowed time
Rebellion is a tireless destination
Constant travel in random circles
Enslaved in forms of aggravation
Ripped off by counterfeit oracles
Smoke rises from a burning flame
Accidents are common knowledge
Waiting for someone else to blame
Living life with some vacant pledge
Teenage angst withered last night
Some choices are laced in cyanide
Two wrongs can never make a right
Lusting the world is spiritual suicide
Always able to turn on a dime
Overflowing with vim and vigor
Fighting against borrowed time
Rebellion is a tireless destination
Constant travel in random circles
Enslaved in forms of aggravation
Ripped off by counterfeit oracles
Smoke rises from a burning flame
Accidents are common knowledge
Waiting for someone else to blame
Living life with some vacant pledge
Teenage angst withered last night
Some choices are laced in cyanide
Two wrongs can never make a right
Lusting the world is spiritual suicide

I really enjoyed this… late night musings are so creative, although mine often need quality control come morning
Your words resonated deeply with me. I believe we’re being played in a game of divide and conquer which encourages us to chase the wind rather than seek spiritual peace.

Lusting the world is spiritual suicide.
That's a brilliant line. Our greed does kill our spirit.

Playing the blame-game to eschew responsibility for our own actions is commonplace, unfortunately.
Thank you for sharing this, Damian.

There's a struggle to remain spiritual in a fallen world.
Your words a deeply meaningful. Right now, I have my "They Live" glasses on.

Shiloh, that is one of the greatest movies ever. I'm a huge fan of that cinematic masterpiece. I couldn't agree with you more when it comes the world. It does make it tough to remain spiritually true. Thanks so much for your kind words and continued support. And the RL means a lot me. Appreciate you.

I really enjoyed this one. As you know, I'm a firm believer in God. Not only that, but your rhyme and reason are lucid and cogent. It makes seeing the word "lust" in the way it should be seen seem so simple. Human nature will always have the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life - it's inherent and certain. This captures some of that elemental observation as a whole. Kind of also shows the need for God, at least to me. Good form, delivery, conceptualization. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much for your insight and continued support. I'm a believer as well, but really early in my journey. I unfortunately followed some unhealthy views most of my life. But it is simple to see the lust in the world. Those wrong paths I chose to go down, has brought me wisdom. So I wouldn't change anything, because those trials made me who I am. So glad you liked it, the RL means a lot to me. Appreciate you.
