talk of time
if time could talk what could be said
for the emboldened changing of eras
a liquidation of dreams just watching
the golden frenzy of hands spinning on a dial
until the layers collapse to dust
will we have made our mark?
knowledge lies in the deaths of our ancestors
their memories spread over a starlight sea
if time were speaking would you hear it
only to walk away blindly from the whisper
ignoring the longing of ancient wisdom
dreamers beseeching a blossoming ear
there is an insufficiency of words to be placed
for all things hopeful or withering in pain
surely time lingers with those who are patient
weaving futures into our imaginations
paving foundations in revelations
pocketing maps among the stars
