The Boy Who Embraced the Sea

The girl who loved the sea
More than he
Poor boy fell hard
He could not tame her wild soul
Just as one could not tame her golden locks
She ran wild and free
Always seeking
Trying to roam free
Catching every wave she could
She’d tell stories to the creatures below
Longing to be in the undertow
Aye, she loved the sea
More than he,
Poor boy fell hard
He could not keep up
Instead he became her rock
On the stormy days
She’d be swept into his cave
Thankfully he was a good catch
Fished her out when she needed
He never pleaded or begged her to stay
He knew she loved the sea more than he
So he’d always wait
He was the rock, that held her steady
He’d wait
And wait
Until he bacame one with the sea
He was finally free
And his love
Would be felt in every wave she rode
And every sea creature she said hello
She loved the sea more than he
And now he was free
