Image for the poem hush

hush

I am quiet inside awaiting your whispers and sighs
collecting my thoughts from my diary of belief
gentle spirit decorating my dreams with make-believe

you are a man of great depths
I linger in the deep end of your abyss
touching the surface of your waters

my quill leaves gentle waves
they slowly make it to you on the shores you reside
a loner with no need of me

I saw you afar off while wandering one day
I collected sea shells on your beach
leaving my prints in the sand

watching you from far-off
I couldn't bear to approach your stoic
you were masculine in your natural state

many stars decorate your skies
they were dreamt into being
they gaze at your form

wisdom hushed and you were adorned
your intellect cut the night
and I became intrigued

I could only wander so far
the places you'd been amazed me
a man of the world
cultured yet down-to-earth

the cosmos rotates and I with it
falling stars threw themselves from the heavens
to be closer to you

more wanders of faith long to know you
inside me, I grew heavy
wondering if you would choose the shinest ones

my story is simple fate blessed to know you
