bring me a chain of posies
needles to sew them with
bring me coins to soothe the eyes
and a piece of handkerchief
sing me a soft lullaby
to make me go to sleep
to go towards the bye and bye
without ever to count sheep
drink me a glass of cheers
don't be sad or shed tears
the candle will melt away
in the lights of day
