A Martyr...
You asked nothing but gold.
Now you insist on taking
what's no longer there.
I've never resisted up to this point.
How can I look myself in the mirror tonight?
To better days, I've never known.
On the verge of losing what's important to me,
is it enough to make me fall back in line?
I'm done giving it up.
Risk it all, not for me.
Risk it all, a martyr.
Still you took nothing but gold.
Now the price I'm forced to pay
it's worse than I thought.
I want to stand firm but I'm shaking at the knees.
Now there's doubt lingering at the tip of my tongue.
Am I all alone?
Where do I stand, in the right or the wrong?
But the looks in their eyes, they can't be lying to me.
Everything to lose, giving it up.
Risk it all, not for me.
Risk it all, a martyr...
Now you insist on taking
what's no longer there.
I've never resisted up to this point.
How can I look myself in the mirror tonight?
To better days, I've never known.
On the verge of losing what's important to me,
