Just Because

just because I feel so blue
when I get a headache and sneeze
doesn't mean I will infect you
by blowing bubbles in a kiss

just because I have the flu
staying in bed under the blankets
doesn't mean I will drink the brew
that keeps me awake to fidget

just because I look unkempt
smelling like yesterday's tea
it doesn't mean I didn't  attempt
to make myself a little pretty

just because I am a good listener
and answer you with polite laughter
it doesn't mean I don't want you
to listen to me too
 
Just because is a good excuse
to tell the need behind the want
a little attention would be nice
although noises are scary when you're alone
