Your hands eclipse daylight
Shrouded we wait for a piece
You lay just out of sight
As lakeside purrs and recedes
Was I really your friend
Or had I let time swallow slow
Like blue hugs your eyes
I could never let life go
You never check the leaves
You're leaving me in autumn again
Stars branded on our sleeves
You are power and my defense
I choke on ever-after
It's too much to dine on
You appear in rain and laughter
Feeding the earth till I am gone.
Shrouded we wait for a piece
You lay just out of sight
As lakeside purrs and recedes
Was I really your friend
Or had I let time swallow slow
Like blue hugs your eyes
I could never let life go
You never check the leaves
You're leaving me in autumn again
Stars branded on our sleeves
You are power and my defense
I choke on ever-after
It's too much to dine on
You appear in rain and laughter
Feeding the earth till I am gone.
