breaking the universe with you
Meet me by the ocean
and we'll scream into the salted air
I'll bury you in a sand castles
and watch as the tide laps
at your toes
and you feign panic
that you can't escape
I'll dig you out as we laugh
into the turning tide
and you shove me
into the frigid winter shallows
and I gasp at how alive
the cold makes me feel
I won't tell you
how the ocean terrifies me
and elates me as we hold hands
on the waters edge
I think you know what it means
to be both big and small
essential and yet insignificant
We'll watch the sunset
and make up new constellations
as the stars reveal themselves
in the night sky
and I'll write poetry into the sand
about how we can highjack the world
where the horizon meets the ocean
and swim into the cracks
of the universe
and make a new world
where we can be Gods
instead of ants
Meet me by the ocean
and we'll scream into the salted air
like a prayer
like a wish
like a spell
for better days
and we'll scream into the salted air
I'll bury you in a sand castles
and watch as the tide laps
at your toes
and you feign panic
that you can't escape
I'll dig you out as we laugh
into the turning tide
and you shove me
