I Get It Now
I get it now, Mother.
That you were born with a fate.
That long before you could decide for yourself, Life had been attached to you like a parasite.
That you came to this world as an unknowing goddess.
I get it: The future had been written in your blood, and you were just another one in a long row of women who had received an excessive gift.
"I want to be free!”, you screamed where everybody could hear you, just before running away. You went out seeking for freedom, which looked a lot like pleasure, and Life tagged along, silently. You found a man who numbed your senses and the thought of him made you gasp and sweat. You found two men. Three. Four men. You closed your eyes and opened your legs. You said, "This is it", and the room was filled with your laughter. But you see, a goddess cannot escape her fate, and the moment you opened your legs Life crept in to claim her seed.
When you looked at your swollen body in front of the mirror, you felt disgust, you were outraged. You shouted to the first man, "You did this!". You whispered to the second man, "You did this." The third. The fourth. "You did this." But you had done it on your own, right? That's what they said. You wanted to scream. "Take it out. I don’t want to see it. I didn’t ask for it. Wrap it in toilet paper and take it the hell away from me. I want to be free.” And you could hear Life laughing in the back.
I get it now, Mother, I really do. And I forgive you.
