She Wolf

I dreamt about her so vividly
she was the one who was coming for me
eyes as intense as the fire sun
Her coat so soft and always wants to run

I would never claim this spirit of hers
the she-wolf with a coat of snow

There were times when I came home to see
She lay sprawled out on the couch you see
She gave me a look as if So what
you were not here so I was free

Then something awful happened one day
I took her to the doctor and didn't want to hear what he was going to say
Your wolf is not healthy you see
You can take it home or you can leave her with me

She's in pain but she's holding on
She loves you now and she will love you when she's gone
I had to make a choice and I didn't want to do it
How was I going to live? How was I going to get through it?

You see she found me, it wasn't the other way around
She called to me, we were already soul-bound
The tears that streamed down my face
They were selfish tears but they had its place

She gave me one last kiss and I gave her one last hug
The she-wolf of mine will always be loved

Author's Note
This is for the wolf competition. May write something else. I'll hold off.
I did not have a wolf. I had a pure white German Shepard that the vet even said looked more wolf than Shepard.  I still miss her.
