The Visitor

I really got this poem. I’m also about to drill my letterbox shut if I get another piece of political propaganda through my door with the upcoming election. It made me think how there are just so many voices and promises flying around at the moment, and nobody is really acknowledging the big issues — it’s all just faff to fill seats. Unless one of them is promising to remove millions of tonnes of plastic from the oceans or sewage from the water I have to say, my heart’s not really in for voting for any of them.

The only thing we had to celebrate in the UK was the worker/union fought human rights. I see a country stripped of all the human rights people died for.

If you have nothing in the UK you really have nothing, the weather is terrible to top it off.
If I am to be trampled down by an uneducated heartless authority I could just about tolerate it if we had a bit of sunshine.

People all over the world are getting stomped on. It hurts when you know that it could be better for people and animals and trees. It really doesn't have to be this shit.

A sad, brutal reminder of our sorry state of affairs. "Making governments out of toilet mould" is about the most accurate description of politics I've ever read. Thanks for sharing this scorching poem.

I have always been on the lookout for something to describe a politician accurately. Toilet mould came to mind. I used to think they were like lizards or even cockroaches. But that cockroaches are cleaner and lizards have warmer blood.

I like that it doesn't need to rhyme to flow.

I tried to emulate Bukowski's style with this piece.
He is a massive influence.

I think hard on the truth, or as close as i can figure out the truth to be.
I hope to use the truth and repackage it like my hero's Orwell and Bukowski.
I think Tolkien was a master at repackaging the truth.
