Image for the poem If you could read her mind.

If you could read her mind.

If you could read her mind, you would understand how it feels to be different. Wishing with everything she wasn’t unable to be brave and walk out of the shadows. She clings to the obscurity they bring it covers not only her bones but seeped into her soul. It’s her coat she wears even in the summer heat although it’s suffocating. It’s her only true friend the dark and it knows her inside and out. It tells her of all her failures and mistakes as if she needed reminding and it’s wise with the question what the one common denominator in all of them, she whispers in reply it’s me and she gave up trying.

She doesn’t blame others when she knows she is the mistake.  She doesn’t know what she was born for to observe but never partake to give but not take to breathe but not make that oxygen circulate. It’s not living like you do she hides behind a wall so tall of insecurity and fear she barely survives living on the cheap. I mean she’s been like this since she was aged five and saw things of sheer brutality, she becomes the kid that cried too much and was oversensitive the sort of person you just want to brush aside.

So, she did before someone else got the brush. She is different and she is slowly dying trying to find the peace of mind to live. You definitely don’t want to read her mind. She sounds like a creep .
