my cat cratering into my lap at night

of the coffee maker in the morning
and why do red lights seem to love me
whenever I'm in a hurry
how can science ever explain
the force of your smile
as my lips are drawn to yours
or the gravity of your beautiful eyes
as I'm pulled into magnetic storms of desire
a universal force that pulls on my heart
how did they get it so wrong
the solar system works on love
it's just a theory and a work in progress
to make sense of my contentment
as I snuggle deeper into your lap
