FAMILY TIES

Today you would've been sixty-four
Such a short stay and length of tour
COVID's roar took your last breath away
Now you're not here to celebrate today

And Unc may be headed your way too
Hoping there's a way that he'll pull through
Nothing else I can do to effect the outcome
Done the math but don't won't to accept the sum

Gotta come to grips; accepting what I can not change
Discerning with wisdom even when it pangs
Seeking some loose change of mental serenity
To strengthen me and the extended family
