An ending

The last time you loved me
we rolled and swam and tussled
and melted and mixed together
then tied our bodies firmly
like a ribbon adorning its gift

The last time you held me
time hovered above the bed
deciding how to capture
a photograph of two lovers
locked in their closing moments

The last time you kissed me
space disappeared
like a luke-warm shadow
dissolving between
the press of our lips

The last time you touched me
I shivered as the wind
plucked at my jacket
You briefly embraced me
I blinked into the sun
Then walked across the road

The last time you loved me
You told me exactly that
You love me
You. Love. Me.
You still do
